At MMM, Interventional Cardiology Department through its two state-of-the-art cineless catheterisation laboratories has performed approximately 35,000 procedures till date. In keeping with the cutting edge technology, the placement of drug eluting stents are routine procedures as is the latest in atherectomy. The Cardiac Electro Physiology Laboratory is one of the few in India, with expertise to manage end-stage heart failure by means of the latest electrophysiological techniques and is the busiest cardiac electro-physiology centre in the region dealing with a wide range of diagnostic studies and radiofrequency ablative procedures in adult and paediatric patients.

The Adult and Paediatric Surgical Departments have to credit more than 25,000 operations, a rare distinction of very few hospitals in the world. In keeping with current techniques and technological advancements, Off Pump Coronary Artery Bypass (OPCAB) has come to be an important and common means of surgical revascularization here. This department has performed more than 150 Ross operations in patients aged between 3 months to 70 years. Sir Donald Ross, the pioneer of the Ross Procedure in Cardiac Surgery, in remembrance of the 150 th Ross Procedure, unveiled a plaque in June 2004 at this institute.

The Paediatric Cardiac Surgical Department is a unique facility that handles the entire spectrum of congenital cardiac anomalies from neonates to infants and newborns to adolescents. Approximately 8000 cases of congenital cardiac anomalies with excellent results; the youngest being just 8 hours weighing 1.4 kgs, has been performed here.
