The Department of Nuclear Medicine is equipped with High Resolution Spect Gamma Camera. Myocardial Perfusion studies using Tc-99m and T1-201 radioisotopes are routinely carried out.
The Department carries out other Nuclear Imaging Procedures like Renal studies, Ventillation and Pulmonary Perfusion Imaging, Hepatobiliary Studies, Thyroid scans etc. Radio-Iodine, P-32 and Sr-89 Therapy are also given. The Department also serves patients from other hospitals who are referred solely for Nuclear Medicine procedures. This section, equipped with two SPECT Gamma cameras, provides non-invasive assessment of myocardial perfusion, pulmonary perfusion and ventricular function. Catering also to other hospitals it carries out general Nuclear Medicine like Bone Scan, Renal Scan, Thyroid scans etc. In addition to diagnostic work, treatment of patients with thyroid diseases and cancer in the bones is also carried out.
