The Microbiology Department maintains surveillance throughout the hospital so that anti microbial prophylaxis and therapy are optimized. Antibiotic drug protocols are formulated so that the most effective drug combination is chosen for each patient. The Department is also the driving force behind the first Homograft Valve Bank in Asia to utilize cryopreservation techniques.
