CATEGORY OF ROOMS
General Ward:This is a non-airconditioned dormitory with 32 beds and a common washroom located on the II floor. Every bed is provided with a cupboard, couch for attendant and food trolley. The female general ward located on the 6 th floor is an airconditioned ward with 10 beds.
Semi-private room:This is an air-conditioned room with 2 beds separated by a screen. This has two couches for attendants, a television, a telephone, a table and a chair.
Private(Single) room: This is an individual air-conditioned room with attached washroom located on a specially designated “Executive floor”. This room has a patient cot, Television, telephone, couch for attendant, a cupboard, table and a chair.
Deluxe Room: This is an individual air-conditioned room with attached washroom larger than the private room. It comprises of a patient cot, a couch for the attendant, a Television, telephone, a cupboard, a wardrobe, a shoe rack, table and a chair, a refrigerator, easy chair.
Superdeluxe room/Executive Suite: This is a large air-conditioned twin room with attached wash room, a television, telephone, refrigerator, sofa set, wardrobe, a patient cot, a couch for attendant, dining table.
DEPOSIT / PAYMENT
Depending upon the room requested and nature of the treatment, an initial deposit (package amount) will be collected at the Billing counter, which will be adjusted in your final bill.
For any enquiry regarding bill, you may contact the Billing Section located at the ground floor. Payments should be made only to billing department personnel and not to any other individual.
DIET
The Dietician plans the diet based on the therapeutic needs. The diet charges are included in the room rent.
DIETARY SERVICE
The hospital Dietary Department gives you a choice of North Indian, South India and Continental Food.
Patients' attendants are advised not to bring food from outside the hospital. The Hospital Dietary Department will provide a hygienic and nutritious diet. The attendants may order meals from the steward or call 2321 or 2139 to place orders.
CANTEEN
Canteen is situated on the ground floor where breakfast, lunch and dinner are available. Room service is also available.
HOUSEKEEPING
Guest Laundry service is available. You may contact the Housekeeping at Extn. 2233 for this service.
TRANSPORT
The Mobile Coronary Care Units(Ambulance) are available for pick up and drop. These units have the most modern ambulatory Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation equipment and are manned by medical and paramedical staff. CHAPLAINCY SERVICE
The department of Pastoral Care and Medical Social Work is always available for the emotional and spiritual needs of people of every faith. The Medical Social Workers are available to give information about the patients' conditions to their attendants. They can be contacted at Extn : 2032.
SPECIAL NURSE
Special Nurse Services can be arranged through Nursing Department. Please contact your ward nurse for assistance.
MORTUARY/CRYPT
Mortuary facilities and other supporting services are provided by the Department of Pastoral Care and Medical Social Work.
TRAVEL SERVICES
Travel arrangements for taxi/car drop and pick up can be arranged through Front Office. Medical Social Work Department offers assistance with train/air bookings, foreign exchange visa/passport services, etc.
PLACE OF WORSHIP
The Prayer Hall situated in the lobby is dedicated to all religions of the world and is a comforting place to find peace in troubled times.
POSTAGE
Postal facility is available at the Despatch Section on the Mezzanine.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS
The Telephone Exchange in the hospital helps facilitate easy communication from the room to the world outside. The Operators can be contacted by dialling 9. Fax facility is available at the Reception. Charges for faxes, local calls, STD/ISD will be added to the patient's bills. Also, there is a public call office in the lobby on the ground floor. After the final bill settlement, local/STD/ISD calls cannot be made from the room. In-house telephone facility is available near STD booth on the ground floor.
BROWSING CENTRE
A well equipped 24 hours MMM Internet Café is situated on the Ground floor, near the Telephone Booth.
SECURITY
In case of any theft or loss, security may be notified immediately. Unclaimed items, found in the hospital premises, may also be handed over to Security office on the ground floor. Safe Locker facility is available at Main Reception may contacted for keeping your baggage in safe custody in the interim period i.e, after discharge and before leaving the hospital, etc.
CABLE TELEVISION
Rooms have cable television with more than … channels both in Indian languages like Hindi, English, Tamil, etc., and foreign languages.
BED FOR ATTENDANT
There is provision for one attendant to stay with the inpatient in the room or ward. When the patient is in operation theatre/ICU/CCU, the attendant will have to vacate until the patient returns to the room or ward. However, depending upon the availability of the rooms, attendant can continue to stay on request and payment. Super Deluxe rooms can be of continued use, under the care of the attendants.
BLOOD BANK
Ideally, blood should be arranged by the patient with the help of relatives and friends. The Madras Medical Mission Blood Bank will provide all necessary assistance. Before surgery, every unit of blood is cross-matched and tested for HIV, Malaria, VDRL, etc. For such tests, Rs…….. per unit will be charged. In case blood has to be procured from other blood banks, charges levied by them will be extra.
PHARMACY
A 24 hours Pharmacy is situated on the ground floor next to the Billing Section.
SPECIAL CONSULTATIONS
For inpatients when necessary outside consultants like Nephrologists, Neurologists and other are called in, their fees will be extra. |
