The Madras Medical Mission (MMM) is a service oriented non-profit organisation registered under the Tamil Nadu Charitable Societies Act 1975. Formed by a group of 140 members belonging to the Orthodox Syrian Church of the East, its activities are managed by a 20 member Governing Board. Decisions affecting the day-to-day functioning of the Mission are taken by a Managing Committee, consisting of a Vice President, Hon.Secretary and Hon.Treasurer, all of whom do not draw any dividends or interests from the society. A budget of about Rs. 5 crores is allocated every year for charity.

VICE PRESIDENT - Mr. Verghese Eapen

Mr.Verghese Eapen is a well known Industrialist in Chennai. Mr.Eapen worked with the Government of India in the Indian Economic Service till 1970. He is actively involved in a host of social service activities directly relevant to the community.

He was Founder Secretary of the Madras Medical Mission for 15 years and continues his association with that organisation as Vice President. He is currently the Chairman of the Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences.

As President of the Union Christian Association he was instrumental in developing the Foster School project Under this project, a government school has been adopted by the UCA and the development of the government school in terms of infrastructure, teaching facilities, staff etc is being carried out in collaboration with the UNICEF and Corporation of Chennai.

Mr Eapen in his capacity as Secretary and Vice President of MMM has provided leadership in the development and implementation of projects of the organization.

HON . SECRETARY - Mr. Thomas E.J

The Governing Board has elected Mr.E.J.Thomas, as the Hon. Secretary of the Madras Medical Mission, with effect from 11th February 2008 in the place of Mr.K.V.George who has resigned due to ill health.

He is a graduate of the Madras University, is specialized in Rural Marketing with a two and half decade work experience as Senior Marketing Executive with a British firm. Currently he is the Chairman and Managing Director of TEE & JAY fertilizer P Ltd.
