Madras Medical Mission has perceived the need for education, training and research eversince its inception in 1987.

          As earIy as in 1992, MMM in collaboration with Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) Pilani, Rajasthan, commenced the pioneering course B.S Physician Assistant programme. In 1994 the Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Microbiology and in 1997, the Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology were commenced. The Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Sociology was introduced for the first time in India in 1998. We further added Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetic Management and Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Records Management in the succeeding years. All the above mentioned coueses were conductedby the Madras Medical Mission until 2004.
