About Us
The Department of Genetics is well equipped with facilities for research and training in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Cell Culture and Fluorescence work, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Bioinformatics. We are offering various programs like summer training, implant training and short term projects. All our programs are targeted towards fulfilling the needs of students. To fulfill this mission, we provide efficient consulting, training and research services. With these services, our students can attain manpower excellence for their growth in the life science industry.

Our Infrastructural Facilities :
The department possesses state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities that are a result of our investments in this domain. Some of the facilities are as follows: |
- Delbruck Molecular Genetics Lab
- Harrison – Animal Cell Culture Lab facility
- Sydney C.elegans and PCR Lab
- Fluorescence Microscopy facility
- Well equipped training center and many more

All these facilities enable us to provide only the efficient and result oriented services to our students. The laboratory and training centers are couple of most pivotal parts of our student training program.

1)Inhibition of apoptosis in cardiomyocytes using phytochemicals
2)Role of cellular proteins in zebra fish cardiomyocyte cell survival
3)Targeted drug delivery in zebra fish cardiomocytes
4)Expression of GATA factors during zebra fish cardiomyocyte stress
5)Design of eukaryotic extrachromosal elements |

Eligibility & Selection: |
| Undergraduate and postgraduate students from Life Science courses like Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, Pharmacy, and Medicine related courses are eligible to apply for their Training & Project work. Collaborations are welcome. Selection of students are based on interest and dedication showed by the student. Generally first come first served basis is followed. Intakes are round the year however we suggest that you apply at least three months in advance due to the overwhelming number of quality applications |
